barmer-boysBarmer Boys, the ‘Global ambassadors of contemporary Rajasthani folk and Sufi music’, seamlessly fuse the centuries-old musical traditions of the Manganiyars with Gypsy folk and beatboxing with a versatility of styles and bubbling energy that infuses each performance. From soulful Sufi kalaams to uplifting wedding and celebratory songs, to boisterous jams with beat-boxing and live DJ sets, the trio have have performed over 200 concerts on tours in the US, Europe, Canada and UK, appearing at major festivals including Roskilde (2014)Clockenflap HKWassermusik Berlin (x2)Winnipeg Folk Festival and more. Their sophomore album ‘Kesariya Balm‘ released in 2017 on Bandcamp and vinyl only, and the first folk LP to be made in India in the 21st century, debuted on the Top 40 Transglobal World Music Charts. Their debut ‘At Home’ (2012, Amarrass Records) received 4 Stars in Songlines “incandescent Sufi voices that incite ecstasy”.
